BlackThrob Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 27, 2026
BlackThrob LLC ("BlackThrob," "we," "us," or "our") owns and operates blackthrob.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information when you visit the website, create an account, or use our services.
For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].
1. Information We Collect
Account information. We collect information you provide when registering and managing your account, such as your username, email address, password, and date of birth.
Profile information and member content. We process the profile details, photos, videos, posts, and other content you choose to submit. Depending on what you share, this information may reveal sensitive details about your sexual orientation, relationships, or interests. Please consider carefully what you disclose.
Communications. We process communications submitted through available service features. If you contact us, we receive your contact details and the information included in your correspondence.
Technical and usage information. When you use the website, our systems and integrated services may process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, access times, referring pages, pages visited, and interactions with the service. The information processed depends on the service and its configuration.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Create and manage member accounts and authenticate access.
- Provide community features and display content to members.
- Respond to questions, support requests, and privacy requests.
- Understand website usage and improve the service.
- Maintain security, investigate abuse, and enforce our Terms and community rules.
- Address copyright complaints and other content reports.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations and valid legal process.
We do not currently send marketing emails. We may send account, security, support, and other service-related communications.
3. Member-Only Access and Content Visibility
Profiles and community content are restricted to signed-in members. Visitors must sign in to view member content.
Requiring sign-in does not make information shared with members confidential. Other members may copy, capture, or disclose information outside BlackThrob. We cannot guarantee that content will never be copied or accessed without authorization. Avoid posting information you would not want others to disclose.
4. Cookies and Browser Storage
The website and integrated services use cookies or similar technologies, including browser storage, to support functions such as account access, age gating, preferences, and usage measurement.
You can manage cookies and stored website data through your browser settings. Blocking or clearing them may affect website functions or require you to complete prompts again. Browser controls do not necessarily stop all information processing by external services.
5. Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand website traffic and how the service is used. Google Analytics uses cookies or similar technologies to measure interactions and provide usage reports. Information processed through Google's services may include technical details, page addresses, and usage information, depending on the configuration.
Google's handling of information is described in its privacy documentation:
- How Google uses information from sites and apps using its services
- Google Privacy Policy
- Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
The opt-out add-on applies to supported browsers and does not prevent all other forms of website data collection.
6. Age Restrictions and AgeVerify
BlackThrob is intended for people aged 21 or older. We use AgeVerify.com to present an age gate before access to the website. The age gate is separate from the requirement to sign in to view community content.
AgeVerify may use browser storage and process technical or usage information according to its service version, configuration, and published terms. The presence of an age gate does not mean that BlackThrob verifies every visitor's identity using government-issued identification.
For provider information, see AgeVerify's Terms of Service.
If you believe someone under 21 has registered, contact [email protected] so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
7. How Information Is Disclosed
To other members. Information you share through your profile and community features is available to members according to the relevant feature and available visibility settings. Direct communications are intended for their recipients rather than the community generally.
To service providers. Information is processed by providers supporting website operations, such as hosting, analytics, and age gating. Providers receive information relevant to their functions. Third-party processing is also subject to applicable agreements, settings, and the providers' privacy terms.
For legal and safety purposes. We may preserve or disclose information when required by applicable law or valid legal process, or when lawfully necessary to address fraud, abuse, security incidents, threats to safety, or protection of legal rights.
At your direction. We may disclose information when you request or authorize us to do so.
8. Retention and Account Deletion
We retain account information and member content while your account is active to provide the service.
Members can delete their accounts through the website. Our current account-deletion process immediately deletes the account and associated member content rather than temporarily deactivating it. BlackThrob does not retain backup copies of deleted account content.
Account deletion does not retrieve copies independently made by other members or automatically erase information independently processed by third-party providers, including Google Analytics. Separate records, such as correspondence you send to support, are not necessarily part of account deletion. Information subject to a legally required preservation obligation may need to be retained for that purpose.
For questions about deletion or remaining information, contact [email protected].
9. Your Choices and Privacy Requests
You can choose what optional information to submit, use available account and visibility controls, manage browser storage, and delete your account.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or other controls over your personal information. Submit requests to [email protected]. We will assess and respond in accordance with applicable law and may need to verify your identity. Please do not send passwords or identification documents in an initial email.
10. Security
No website or method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss.
Use a unique password, keep account credentials private, and contact [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.
11. Paid Memberships
BlackThrob does not currently offer paid memberships. Before introducing paid features, we will update relevant disclosures to explain payment processing and associated information handling.
12. External Websites
External websites linked through BlackThrob have their own privacy practices. Review their policies before using those services or submitting information.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy as our service or information practices change. We will post the revised policy and update the date above. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent.
